A Head Bangin' Good Time
The Tale:
We had been practicing at after school rehearsal for marching band a while and everyone was really tired that day. I wasn't especially paying very much attention to my band director and was concentrating more on getting the heck outta there. Well, as I was marching towards one of my spots, I noticed that my band director was standing RIGHT ON in conducting the flutes. I mean, dead center on it. So as I approaced him, I brought my mellophone up over his head so I wouldn't run into him and backed a little away. Of coarse, he chose right at that moment to straiten up from his slightly bent frame and and his head collided strait into my mellophone bell. I could hear the THUMP over the band playing! I started apologizing to him like crazy, but he just rubbed his head, winced a little, and told me that it was okay. I swear, it wasn't my fault, he stepped into it! Needless to say, it was the next popular gossip to get around band class the next day, since most everyone had seen it happen.
