So there we were, marching through the mobs of people, hitting them with sousaphones and trombone slides...
We were performing well for such conditions, but disaster was about to strike!
Our director insisted that we perform our routine as written, including the turn around move we do... (All I can say was BAD IDEA!)
The front part of the band, which I was part of, had seen the turn in the road and knew that we had to move while we were backing up, but the rest of the band didn't.. and so as the front two rows are round the bend, all we see is a large mass of people marching backwards into a building, and our director standing there have a fit...
I have never laughed in a parade, but I'll tell you it was so funny that I just had to laugh!
I guess you would have to have been there :)
