How not to stage a rock concert.

The Tale:

The sixties British Invasion was in full swing and a band called Herman's Hermits decided they too could do the Beatles thing and be a big success in America. It was common practice to tour with a warm up band and HH brought a little known rock band from England with them on the tour. So the band famous for "Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter" and "Henry the Eighth" came to be at an amusement park called Lagoon in Utah.

The concert stage was a novel affair as it was constructed so that it could revolve. This was a great idea because it meant the warm up band could be set up on one side and Herman's Hermits on the other. Then when the warm up band finished the stage would just turn 180 degrees and would be instantly ready for the main act. Minimize disruption between acts, very few roadies out on the stage during the transition, it sounds like a great idea.

One problem though, the warm up band was The Who.

It took them two hours to be able to find enough equipment to put back on the stage so Herman's Hermits could perform.
