Just nudge me when it's my turn
The Tale:
Many years ago I attended a concert by the Sydney Youth Orchestra in London - playing Saint Saens' 3rd Symphony - the mighty Organ Symphony. The climax of the last movement is a section with the orchestra building to three mighty cymbal crashes. The percussion player has nothing much else to do. The poor guy was patently day dreaming and completely missed the first one - The whole orchestra and audience gasped and the poor guy turned beetroot red as he managed to get the other two crashes right. He had travelled halfway round the world for this! My guess is that he has taken up another career.
