Reputation Goes Out the Window
The Tale:
Many, many years ago, a well-known and highly respected Arkansas composer/clinician was rehearsing the first band at a junior high clinic in (I believe) Hot Springs. As he checked the score, he noticed that his pants were unzipped. Wishing to avoid a spectacle, he quickly pointed to one of the windows and shouted, "Look!" While the students were thus distracted, he zipped up, then returned his attention to the band. Some of the students were looking at him with very strange expressions; a few seemed nearly in tears. He stood there puzzled for a moment, then looked out the window-- and saw two dogs locked in mid-hump.
