The Smashed Mello...

The Tale:

The brass section was practicing in their circle. I play the mellophone, an instrument that kinda looks like a baritone horn that got run over by a truck. Anyway, someone missed a release, and we had to run 2 laps. So we put our instruments down and ran. As usual, I was one of the last to return. When I came back from running, I noticed that the entire brass section was looking at me funny. Then the brass instructer came up to me, holding a horribly deformed mellophone.
"Your mellophone is destroyed." he said to me solemnly, handing me an instrument with the bell completely smashed in.
"I didn't do it! It's not my fault!" I cried.
By now the woodwind section had somehow gotten wind of what had happened, and they were looking at me funny, too.
Of course, I wasn't really upset. It was a school instrument, and I hated it anways.
