Tymps vs the flute player

The Tale:

When I was in band we had constant trouble with our typanies. They refused to stay in tune. Our first concert with the new music teacher started off with a bang so to speak. As we were taking our places on the risers in front of the audience, a flute player missed her footing on the first riser and fell onto the newly tuned tympanies...The teacher cried out "Oh my God I hope the tympanies are ok." Then she looked at the girl who had fallen and asked her if she was ok. It was too late because the whole band and audience were snickering since the teacher was more concerned about the tymps than the student. Quite the embarassment for both of them!
