the real truth about Academic Festival
The Tale:
As I was beginning rehearsals for Brahms' Academic Festival with my high school orchestra, things were not proceeding smoothly. I decided to plow through a reasonable portion, just to give the students a taste of it, but in time, it came apart badly enough that I just had to stop. As the last notes died away (apt term..) the last two second violinists, with the long nails, big hair and gum, turned to each other and one loudly said, "This song sucks!"
