There are currently 10,000 rhinos in the wild. Wholesale markets in Taiwan are getting up to $30,000 per pound for rhino horn. Most rhinos are killed in Zimbabwe and traded through Zambia. Principal consumers are China, Korea, Taiwan and Yemen. Something must be done.
There is a rhino newsletter, called Really, Rhinos!, that is definitely worth subscribing to! It has general rhino information, information on rhino products, and fun cartoons!
To subscribe, you can either email Judith Lessee at rinophyl@rtd.com or snail mail her: Judyth Lessee, Editor, Really, Rhinos!, PO Box 1285, Tucson, AZ 85702-1285 Phone number: (520) 327-9048
The cost is $15 ($20 foreign) for four issues (one year subscription). A portion of each subscription is donated to rhino conservation projects.
Try Rhino Chaser beer! It tastes great, and most of the money the make goes to rhino conservation projects.
Here's a Great rhino page, which even tells you how you can donate money to save the rhinos!
Here is yet another web page about rhinos!
